In 2016, I retired from teaching 10 years in a tenured teaching position at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. Before that I earned tenure and taught for 11 years at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. I started my teaching career at Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana in 1989. In addition, I taught at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lakes, Michigan from 2004-2010. My experiences include the following:
- Performing regularly as a keyboard artist at various venues in Central Texas
- Performing as a trombone and euphonium soloist and in ensembles throughout the US and in Germany and Jamaica
- Performing as a piano accompanist for my university students
- Teaching private music lessons at the university and at my home for over 30 years
- Teaching piano skills in university music classes
- Teaching Music Theory and Ear Training at the university level
- Teaching Introduction to Music classes at the university level
- Conducting chamber ensembles, large ensembles, and jazz ensembles
- Designing and teaching online courses at the university level
- Presenting clinics and sessions on performance, music teaching, and music technology at conferences around the US, including the Midwest Band and Orchestra conference
- Publishing music arranged and set in Finale music software
- Publishing articles on music performance, music teaching, and music technology
